“What leaves a mark on concrete?” is looking at the meaning and meaninglessness of isolated human interactions in our modern built environment.

Zuidplein, an area in the south of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has for a long time been, still is and will continue to be, a place of commuting, a place where thousands of people pass through every day. The surroundings made from concrete act like a stage for all these individuals when seen from further away. What do human actions and interactions mean when they are placed against this background and do they leave a mark on its material?
